Subject: Must sell my 4.7 RC 5spd Dak!!!
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello all,

Due to unforseen circumstances, I need to sell my '02 RC Atlantic blue Dakota

This is what it has...

4.7L
5spd
3.92 posi
Hd service package (cooling/alternator/battery)

Leather steering wheel (factory)
Cd/am/fm

I bought it for something nice to drive that would be dependable and enjoyable....

It has been all that and more!!!!

I have never had one problem with it at all, I mean NOTHING!!!!!!

I have changed the oil ranging from 3,000 miles to a max of 5,000 miles, and then the 5,000 miles was on 10w30 valvoline not 5w30.

It has always been a very light brown color when changed and I have used the larger filter for the ford engines that fits...

I have always had it professionally maintained...

It has 21,000 miles on it

MODS:

1. Mopar factory under bumper hitch setup (nicest one!!) with factory wiring harness... very nice!!!

2. Rubber bed mat (bed has some scratches on the bottom, but none on the sides or top of the sides on the truck..before mat was installed)

3. New Autolite 3923 spark plugs installed at 20,500 miles.... ENGINE RUNS AWESOME NOW!!!!

I have had the occasional street-race with the truck and have never lost to another stock style truck (Including 2 R/T regular cabs). I pull away from stock R/T's by about 4 or more car-lengths in a 1/4 mile...they hate it...

I raced one highly modded R/T extended cab and we were neck and neck for as fast as we wanted to go....
He had headers, bigger throttle body, K&N airfilter, cold-air hood, full dual exhuast, mp computer...etc.

I am very proud of my truck's performance... another reason why I don't want to sell it....

It was bought when the 7year/100,000 mile warranty was on for powertrain...
I also got the super-duper extended full coverage warranty (but I am not sure if it transfers but I think it does)

I am asking payoff on it, Which, I believe, is about $18,000.

The truck has absolutely no dents and was garaged for the duration.

Please email me at ryan@lsr10.com if you have any questions or interest

Thanks,
Ryan M.

Also, This is a Sport package with the body colored bumpers, grill, and fender flares...
It also has the 16 x 8 Aluminum wheels and Goodyear tires with the handling package..

sorry, forgot to say that...

What do you mean, Sure-ok??

I didn't get hired on to the new job I was expecting to get, and I haven't got a significant amount of raise at my current job.

I am sure most of you understand. I feel like I am not moving forward or getting better in my life, and I haven't been able to get a job that utilizes or pays me for my degree(Bachelors in Business Management)... I am thinking about moving to a new location for a better job, but they are tight everywhere..

I currently live in Tyler, Texas, but I am thinking about moving to the DFW area.

I can't afford to move and have a truck payment.

How does it work when someone says, "take up payments"?

This would probably be a good deal for someone to do, instead of refinancing $18,000, right?

Sure would save a lot of interest...

I think I got it at 7%....

It was my first big purchase ever and I have good credit, so I guess I didn't have enough history of large purchases to get my credit to a lower %...

I have never been late on even one payment to any C/C or loan... so, I dunno.

I am 24, single, and didn't have to have a co-signer...

Please email with any info, suggestions, or inquiries...

Thanks,
Ryan

Your never going to get $18000 for a used 02. You can buy a brand new one cheaper than that. I'm not trying to be a smart @ss but it sounds like the dealer broke it off in you if payoff is still that much. Your salesman must have been Ben,... Ben Dover. I'm in the market for a brand new rc sport 4.7 5spd myself. MSRP on a 03 is $19800 and thats with LSD,3.92, infinity sound. I can probably get it for invoice which will be right around $18000. Factor in a $3000 rebate and I can get it for $15000. Your better off finding away to keep your truck because right now you are upside down in it. Your going to lose your @ss if you sell it.

Geez you guys are immature and harsh! The guy has fallen on hard times and he's trying to get by. He has to sell his pride and joy and you give him nothing but grief for it. Do you expect him to take a loss on his truck?

just telling it like it is. Yes, he WILL take a big hit on the truck. Average retail on his truck is $11475. Average trade in is $9250. I'm going by Black Book, it's there in black in white. Go down your dealership and ask if you don't believe me. Clean retail is $13,300, but he will be damn lucky to get it. You can take those numbers and add $650 for the 4.7 and deduct $1375 for the 5spd. Those are just the facts of life dude. Is that mature enough for you Goodyear?

And Yes, I am in the car business. I got those numbers from the june 03 Black Book. The numbers may be a little different in texas because I live in Georgia. Seriously, try to keep the truck because your are as car dealers say "upside down in it". That means you owe way more than it's worth. Thats just what happens when you buy a new car and then try to sell it a year later. Your truck depreciated several thousand as soon as you drove it off the lot.

Thank you both for the input.

I know I am upside down on it.....

Yes, it is my pride and joy, my first new car/truck.

I ordered it just like it sits and I had to wait for 3 months for it to be built.

That is why I thought I might post it on here for sale, because you guys have been really knowledgeable and helpful about these trucks.

I know that every dealer except the one I ordered it from looked at me like I slapped their mother when I asked, "Do you have any RC 4.7L/ 5spd dakotas on the lot?", nope, all V6 or R/T's only, besides the R/T is BAD!!!! - says the salesman... ;-)

I never found even one on the lot here in Tyler, DFW area...etc.

So, I read this forum and ordered what I thought would be a great truck. It is.

Anyone can pull out the Blue-ball, I mean..book..

I am just saying, I know my truck is valued between 10K and 17K (low wholesale and high retail), but try to find one on the used lot.

Does anyone know about the "take up payments" deal that I asked about earlier?

Can you tell me more about it?

That would be a great deal for someone, because all the interest has basically been paid in the first year..

Making payments on 18,000 payoff is much nicer than financing $18,000(at any interest above 0 %) , that is what I was asking about...

Thanks Again,
Ryan

Ryan, sorry if i seemed a little harsh in my first couple posts, you seem like a good sport.

The reason you had to order that combo is because it just isn't popular (it is on this website though) But the problem is the RC 5sd just doesn't sell well and you will be hard pressed to find someone who is willing to pay much for it. The vast majority of the public just doesnt care about a fast pickup. The problem about getting someone to take up payments is that they can still buy a brand new one for around $18,000 and get 0% apr for 60 mths or $3000 cash back.

BTW, I too have a BS in business administration. Sucks doesn't it! I graduated 3 years ago, made good grades and I'm working on a POS used car lot!

I appreciate your info and your comments...

I was just hoping that someone here might not have good enough credit to get a 0% plan, that's all...

Someone like me.

Thanks
Ryan

There's plenty who can't get 0% but your biggest problem is finding one who is willing to pay $18,000 for a 5spd RC with 21,000 miles regardless of their credit history.

If I were you, I would keep the truck and if I had to, get a loan that would help me make the pymts for 2 or 3 mths until I found a better paying job. Interest rates are extemely low right now. Your going to get screwed to the wall if you try to trade it. Whats this world coming to if a college grad can't afford a RC dak. You can do it, hang in there.

Anyway, good luck to you man.
