Message: Anyone know of a company that makes an over the cab lumber rack for the Quadcabs? I just bought a 2003 QC SXT 2wd, but after calling around I can't find anyone that makes these. Problem seems to be that because of the short 5' bed, the leverage over the cab screws up the design strength.
Don't want a 2-bar system because I haul long boards, but I may be stuck. Has anyone seen a solution to this type of problem? I know most of you seem to be gear heads soupin' up these beasts. Anyone out there actually use them for work too?

Message: If you really want to haul lumber on a regular basis you might want to think about some alternatives. I can haul 20' lumber on the 4'x12' flatbed trailer I made from an old boat trailer, works well for a garden tractor too.

Message: Found a local welding shop and had one built to my specs. Wide enough for a 48" sheet of ply wood. Also had cleats welded on for tie down.
Total cost with paint, $200.00 installed.
