IP: Logged

Message:
To any who have put the synthetic in all 3 areas, have you noticed and increase in smoothness, power, mileage? What brand did you use, at what point in milage did you add it and what is your driving style?

Thanks,
Bryan

OK, in order of your questions:
1. can't say as changed it all at 4000 miles, the truck was too new to really notice anything.

2. AMSOIL due to previous knowledge from a friend and they are the only ones that promote extended drain intervals. No regrets yet, all analysises come back great.

3. See #1

4. Mostly highway, cruise at 65-75, not afraid to get on it when needed but I don't leave rubber from a stop(not from the occasional lack of trying). Had someone even call my driving aggressive(I grew up on LI, those that live there would understand) but the only problem is slow people shouldn't be in the passing lane(I think that must be an unwritten law that MD born and bred people know about)

Hope this helps

3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL

Thanks BigBlue QC. You are an asset here.

I have nothing to add since the questions were generic in nature and if I posted my opinions and/or results they would be called into question since I am an Amsoil Dealer.

Bryan,

If you have any specific questions let me know ... or you can do a "Forum Search" using "Synthetic", "Amsoil", "Switching To Synthetics", "Replacing A-L-L Fluids with Synthetics", etc.

Ok, thanks guys. My main goal is greater milage, with durability a close second. We all know synthetic can't be beat for protection but it seems the qualitative effects on efficientcy are more obscure. My plan it to drive 2K on dyno oil and swap everything over to synthetic at once and see what kind of results I pick up.

Thanks
Bryan

Have used Amsoil in many vehicle over the years and have documented improvements in smoothness (manual tranny) and gas mileage. I also used the grease in the wheel bearings as well. Best there is in my opinion. Filter it well and enjoy the benefits.

I think that everybody here knows that I use nothing but AMSOIL in EVERYTHING I own.

I like to put about 1,500 miles on a new vehicle and then switch it over to AMSOIL.

Make sure that when you switch to synthetics that you change the power steering fluid too!

Dr. D

p.s.

I also highly recommend that you do an oil analysis once a year.
