I have seen a few posts on all the different a/c models but some are conflicting with others. I need to replace the compressor on my 97 3.9. What other years and engine sizes will fit mine? Thanks everyone in advance!

try this number 972-288-8888 (www.airproacparts.com) that's my father's company. Get a hold of one of the salesmen and tell them you need a compressor for a 97 dakota w/ the 3.9 and whatever tranny you got. They should take care of you.

no matter where I go, no one legitimately answers this
question. everyone either tries to sell you a compressor for
that specific year or they ask unrelated, irrelevant questions. it
drives me insane. its a simple question. what years are
compatible when it comes to a/c compressors!?
