Subject: Convert 87 from 2WD to 4WD??

I've got an 87 Dakota V6 with an Auto that my dad will pretty much give me. This truck has been very reliable to him so we really don't want to get rid of it. Anyway I have no real use for it but I would love to have an off-road truck again (used to have a Wrangler). I was curious if it was at all possible to convert this truck to 4WD? If so, I was thinking about trying to put in a 360 that my buddy has from his scrapped Ramcharger, which also has a 4-speed manual with it. Any ideas on how well that'll bolt up? I don't mind doing some custom work but I don't want to have to chop up the whole frame or anything.

BTW, the body on this truck is almost perfect...it was rust treated when new and still has no rust, which is why I would like to use it instead of buying a truck that is already 4WD. My main concern first is converting it to 4WD, the 360 would come much later after I build it up. Anyway, what parts would be involved the the 4WD conversion? Thanks

In order to convert a 2WD to 4WD, you'll have to
install the front axle under the truck. It will
require that you "chop up" the frame as the two
trucks do not share the same platform. It will be
expensive, labor intensive, and is not
