Subject: whats wrong w/a 4cyl dak? IP: Logged
Message: i need a reliable truck for cheap. i have a 92 dak w/a 360 w/ all the goodies but i cant afford the gas and it is in rough condition. i would like a 4cyl dak 5spd 96 or older. do yall know of any problems associated w/that style truck?

Message: nothing wrong with the 4-cyl. have a 2000 2.5l, its a good truck. as far as gass, don't expect to do too well, i drive normmaly and still average only 18-19 mpg because the engine has to work real hard to move this truck. as far as power, it can get you around, can carry some weight in teh back and tow small trailors, 2000lbs is what is on teh window sticker. don't ecpect to race any of your friends. if you can afford it go with the 3.9l.

Message: I drove a 93 for 8 yrs & 73k miles. The older ones are better....28mpg & it hauled wood & gravely walk behind tractor with no problems. It just could not get up & go with the other traffic....32 mpg on the highway. I believe dodge changed the design of the 4 cyl engine after 96.
