Guys- this is a warning. Don't get ripped off like I did. Capital Wheels (CapitalWheels.com) are a bunch of crooks.
Bought a set of Chrome Factory wheels from them last may. Sent them my stock silvers in return as a core. Over the winter the chrome started peeling badly. They said "no problem, there's a year warranty. Send them back and we'll replace them. We'll just charge you the price of a new set and credit you back once we get the old ones." $1385.00 gets charged to my Amex. I get the replacements and mount them up. Sent them the old ones back and I have UPS tracking verification that they were delivered on 5/2/03. They never credited my Amex back the $1385, and now it's been suspended.
When they were confronted with the tracking info, they tried to brush me off. They told me there was nothing they could do until their system shows them as being returned. This is on 5/30/03 mind you. I finally got them to agree to the credit today 6/2/03. In the mean time, the 2 month old replacement wheels are starting to pit/peel. When I told them of this problem, they told me the following. "You've mistreated those wheels by driving them in the bad weather. We don't warranty our wheels for that. We'll only be refunding you $800 of your $1385 because of this. Now, we'll be happy to send you back some silvers like you had in the 1st place, but we're still keeping your $585. Because you screwed up the wheels in the 1st place" So not only don't they honor their warranty, they make a rotten product. I'm now screwed and out at least $585, my Amex has been suspended and reported on my credit report, and my wheels suck. I have the choice to go back to silvers, but they'll still keep my money. So at the least, it's going to cost me $585 to get back to the wheels that I had for free from the factory in the 1st place.
Please help me out by posting this on any and all internet boards you frequent. I'm seriously considering suing just to screw with them. I'd like to fly out there and beat the crap out of someone. God Damn Crooks. Garbage Products & Worse Service.

File a lawsuit in your state. They will have to come to you to settle. You can probably get the papers for free at the local courthouse.

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well and let Capital Wheels know that you did so. Many businesses scramble when this happens. Just make sure you have all of your documentation. "You drove our wheels in bad weather." What kind of crap is that. Their wheels aren't snow proof I guess. Bad business pisses me off. Companies need to suck it up an stand buy their products and refund or replace if the product is bad.

If thats the real story thats majorly F'd up.
If you have proof of them saying you did something wrong by driving them in bad weather go after their asses, I cant see any judge going with that crap.
