Subject: Power Door Locks IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and my drivers side door locks began making a very loud noise when locked or unlocked.
I have not taken my door panel off to check it out yet but I am thinking that it is the actuator going bad. I was wondering what is involved with replacing it (Simple pop-in and pop-off)? Also would I be better off going with somebody like Autoloc or sticking with Mopar?
Thanks

Message: The entire door lock mechanism needs to be replaced-- It's a pain, but doable. I sell them for $75.00 shipped. (I had to recently do both my driver's and and passenger side locks my self).

Message: I have been having the same problem with my drivers side door lock and took it to the dealer and they quoted me over $150 with labor to fix.
Sam,
I am interested in picking up one of the door lock mechanism's but I checked out the website and did not see them listed there.
