Subject: no brake lights when parking light on IP: Logged
Message: My brake lights work fine when my lights are off, but if i turn on my lights they do not. What the hell? This just started happening for no reason.
Now my remote start won't work w/ my alarm when the alarm is attached to the parking lights. disconnected the parking light wire of the alarm.
Remote start works, great right.
Now with remote start on, if i turn on the lights the truck shuts off.
somebody help.

Message: Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Sounds like it's either with your alarms or remote start. If the alarm and remote start are two different boxes, I woudl suggest finding an alarm with built in remote start function. Definitly soething you need to get checked out. Electrical shorts under the dash can be a bad thing.

Then took it to a seperate installer, couldn't find the prob.

Message: Almost sounds like the wire on the alarm to flash the parking lights is hooked up to the wrong wire. Not real sure how the Viper alarm is hooked up. Had one on my truck when I bought it, but it was bad and replaced it with another brand. Does the alarm flash the parking lights only, or does it flash the brake lights?? One way to check is watch the 3rd brake light from behind the truck when you arm the alarm. If it flashes the 3rd brake lihgt, then the alarm is definitly installed wrong. Either that, or somehow the wires for the factory taillights are screwed up. If you unhook the parking light wire on alarm do the brake lights work with parking lights on??
