Subject: HELP!!!! IP: Logged
Message: I need some help...i have a 98 5.2 and my oil pressure gauge when im off the throttle is at the 1st little notch but when i apply the gas pedal it moves up to about the 3rd notch then if i take my foot off the gas it goes back down to the 1st notch.... i dont remember it doing this before. i checked the oil and it is fine. is this normal and i just didnt notice it until now? any advice is appreciated

Message: yes it is normal for your oil pressure to flucuate with throttle position. sounds like you are using some crappy oil though if the pressure drops as low as the first notch. i used to use pennzoil, now use mobil 1 and the oil pressure stays past half even when idling.

Message: Thanks! i just switched to synthetic oil. Royal Purple- i always heard that this was a good one..hmm.. in my next oil change i think ill try mobil 1
