Subject: v6 tranny problem plz help! IP: Logged
Message: i have had my truck scanned and figured out that i needed a new output speed sensor in my 98 V6 dak. i went to the dealership and purchased it (879), went to install today and the sensor i pulled out on the driverside was bigger than the one i purchased. did i oull the wrong one?? if so, where is it located, or did i get the wrong part in the 879 bag???? Any help would be appreciated.

Message: 4WD? It should be the sensor assembly that the speedo cable attatches too at the very rear of the Tranny. Did the dealer tell you what model of tranny you had? e-mail me, I might have an extra from my last rebuild Job and I wont Charge you $879. Hee hee maybe $876 +tax :p

Message: Thnks for the help guys, but it turns out that i got the correct part number on the bag but the wrong part inside, i ended up with the input speed sensor, which looks similar but has a smaller diameter.
