Subject: Mom's Transmission IP: Logged
Message: My mom's transmission starting giving her trouble on the way home this pass weekend. Reverse went out in it & it had a hard time taking off but she made it home ok. By the way it's a 99 Chevy Tahoe with 72000 miles on it. She has the extended warrrenty on it so she took it to the shop this pass monday & they had to go through the legal crap to make sure it was covered under warrenty. It was so the dealer went ahead & put a new transmission in without letting my mom know anything. So the adjuster shows up yesterday & saids that General Motors warrenty is not going to cover the cost of the new transmission. The adjuster said for the dealership to pull the new out & rebuild the old one & put it in. Or my mom has to pay an addiontial $500.00 instead of her regular $ 100.00 decutiable that she would normally pay to cover something under extended warrenty. I told my mom that she should'nt have to pay anymore than her $100.00 dectuable. Because it's not her fought that the dealership went ahead & put a new transmission before the adjuster got there. Anyway she's suppose to call & get the adjusters name & phone # this morin & I'm going to call him myself. I guess if need be I'll start with him & work my way up the ladder till I get something resolved. Would it be worth the time hiring an attorney ot do yall think G.M. will take care of this situtation. Any input is appricated!! Sorry bout the long page but I had to explain what's going on. Thanks Again, J.D.

Message: You are absolutely right.. If you have to go to the attorney general in your state.. I did that once when I was going to have a shop do an engine replacement on my old 88 dak, put $1200 down on a $2400 job and changed my mine a week before it was supposed to go in, they said the restocking fee was $1200 ... being in college all i had was no $$ so i went to the attourney general and he listened to my problem and told them to give the $$ back or they would shut them down.. I had my $$$ back quickly... whole process took about a week once I got the AG involved..

Message: Relax dude the guy just wants some help. as for mopar being better than GM dont even get me started. I have a dakota and its not the best truck out there. it has its share of problems.
Anyway personally I would go ahead and see why he denied the warranty first. did you not service it on the prescribed schedule, or whatever. if he tries to give you some BS story on why they arent covering be polite. then call your attorney. its a big hassle. either way. Why are they charging her 500$ instead of 100? if her deductible is 100 thats all she has to pay.
Aftermarket extended warranties have a policy of denying the first claim so if you fight them will most likely pay.
But not always

Message: GM Crap-moron-goof-a-hole, you're an ignorant gonad. Scumbags like you are the #1 problem on this board. If you don't know the answer, just keep your pimply 14 year old face shut.
J.D., the fight is between the warranty company and the GM dealership. Let them pay for lawyers. If your mom never signed a work order then she has no worries. Just mention lawyers and lawsuits and you'll be surprised how quickly things get resolved.
It sounds like you can take action on both the dealership and the warranty company.
