 Subject: fuel line repair

My fuel return line has developed a leak. Seems Dodge saw fit to run the lines tight to one of the body stiffening members and it has worn through over the years. Does anyone have an ideas as far as repairing it? I was thinking about just cutting a section out and grafting a new section in with compression joints. Anyone happen to know the size of the lines??

my 91' had rusty fuel lines -went to my local mopar dealer a bought a FUEL LINE BUNDLE - ALL 3 NEW LINES from front to rear - didn't even have to drop the tank. about $100.00 for lines.

the '97's had a recall for Daks made in Dec 96 thru May 97 for a simular problem with a fuel line rubbing on the chassis. They fixed it for free on mine, by replacing the line with one that ran a little different in it's placement on the chassis. If yours is of that age, and you bought it second hand, you might not have gotten the notice for it.

have repaired fuel lines in the past. all i ever did was get a a piece of fuel line that well fit over the steel line, 4 hose clamps and clamp 2 on each end stagering the clamps 180 degrees from each other. in the case of a rub through like yours usally re-route it a bit an split a piece of 3/4 heater hose and place it over the repair and zip tie it, to protect it from rubbing
