Message:
I bought the ridiculously expensive tape-on Mopar window air deflector/vent visor. Now that I discovered Weathertecs, how can I safely remove the tape-on ones without damaging my paint...or will it not be a problem to just rip them out?

BTW...are there any other options to the tape bug deflectors? I had one installed a few years ago and some of the tape has already detached itself from the plastic deflector, but still sticks like a fly on sh*t to the hood.

Use a hair dryer to heat/soften up the tape and just take your time. You can safely use something like Goo-Gone to get rid of the tape residue.

I have WeatherFlectors from WeatherTech.com on my 95 CC, I love 'em!

Yeah, just heat it and remove the tape and glue residue. Those Mopar visors are made by AutoVentshade and cost twice as much.

It was a spur of the moment decision. This
reinforces the belief that impulse buying is BAD.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. Will a normal hair dryer work or do I need one of those industrial types?

You should be able to do it with a normal hairdryer. Be careful to not get it too hot. You can damage the visors and/ or melt the paint. Once it is warm, it should pull off fairly easy.
