Subject: 1991 Dakota V6 Stalls

I have a 1991 Dodge Dakota V6 2wd with 93000 miles on it. I am having problems with it stalling at stop lights like almost everyone else. I have had it tuned up and had the following valves or sensors replaced EGR, PCV, Oxygen Sensor, and Air Control valve. I have replaced the fuel filter twice in the past two years. I have also had the distributor rebuilt and the battery is only 2 years old. A friend of mine has a 1988 Jeep Cherokee that had the same problem. He replaced the MAP Sensor and that fixed his problem. Does anyone think that may be the problem with my truck. It never stalls right after I start it but usually the first time I will stop at an intersection. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with my '91 only when it's really cold outside. I say it's a timing issue. I've been thinking of replacing the timing change. I changed out the rocker arm shafts, rocker and pushrods and that seemed to help. My Dakota has over 155000 miles.

Maybe it's the fuel pump. Mine went in my 94 dak at about 100k it would also start hard sometimes. Not real expensive but a pain to replace cuz it's in the fuel tank.

I turns out it was the MAP sensor at least replacing it fixed the truck for now.
