Hi, I am trying to find a GOOD driving lamp to fit in place of the fog lights on my 02 dakota. The OE fog light bulbs are 4". I called PIAA and all they tell me is that 3 of thier lamps will fit in the space. I want the brightest that will fit the best. Hey, I am like anyone else..... Please suggest something. Please Help.

If you want one of the best lights available than You won't go wrong with PIAA, From another post I found you could use either a PIAA 510, ( but the guy said he didn't get them cause you would have to take the bumper off to install them???), so he said he got the PIAA 1000x platinum, said they (the 1000x's) fit right in and are very bright. Pilot makes a light thats designed for our light openings, part number for the dakota is PL-119C , I also like hella lights but not sure of which part would fit, ok I also found someone who said he got a set from walmart, but you get what you pay for. Hope this helps you

No problem your welcome, if you need more info just do a search for " replacement fog lights" that's where I got all the specifics

Installed Pilot PL119C lights on my 01 Dakota Quad Cab. Work great. Used Pilot's switch so I can now have the driving lights on with my bright lights.

i have a valance without lights.
is there a kit or cutouts information to install fog/driving lights?
would it be better to pickup a valance with the holes already cutout?
is this an all day job thing?

Cutting a valance is quite easy, since it's only plastic. Just go out, pick your driving lights, then use their dimensions to cut into the bumper. There are much better lights out there than the ones and shape that come on Daks. The best reflector pattern is in a rectangle enclosure, not circular. So this way you could cut yours just how you awnt them.

One note tho : Since you asked if it'd be an all day project, you might wanna just buy the one with holes. This is a very easy mod, and quick with the right tools. Just judging by how you asked the question, you may not have the skills &/or tools to get this done quickly. I'm of course not putting you down, just trying to save you some time. :)
