OK the basics, I got a 2002 black Dakota 4x4 5.9 with AWD and antilock brakes all around. I've noticed on occasion that the brakes have felt spongy. The other day, I was applying pressure to the brake when the traffic suddenly stopped. So I pressed the brakes to the floor and nothing happened, no increase in stopping power. So as I slowely rolled closer to the car in front of me, after about 2 seconds I felt a thump in the front end and then the breaks finaly grabbed. Has anyone had a similar issue? The truck's in the shop and they are saying they can find a problem. I'd hate to end up smashing into something before they will admit there is an issue. Any tips would be appreciated.
