Subject: Bizarre Windshield Washer IP: Logged
Message: I have an '03 (just built) 2200 miles on it and lately (last 100 miles) when I shift (manual trans) the windshield washer comes on about 25% of the time. Sometimes just a quick spritz of the windshield sometimes it hoses it. Has anyone had this happen to them and what did they do to fix it? I hate to take it to the dealer for this as I do not like my dealer (the 5-star survey and a letter are en-route as I type)... It seems to only happen when I shift and feel the synchros line up the gears for me...
Thanks All.

Message: I would say a wiring problem from the factory, are you sure you are not hitting the lever and making it squirt yourself.

Message: Well i think i found the problem. The wiring harness from the directional stalk was actually rubbing against the clutch pedal. The tape was worn, didn't get a chance to check the insulation on the wires but I moved that wire loom out of the way and it was find on the way tow work. So i am thinking it was jsut that they put the wires in a bad place from the factory.
But so far so good..
