Subject: valve cover gaskets

Every cork or rubberized cork gaskets we've used have leaked.Does anyone have an opinion on the best ones to use?Again I have a pre mag 318.

it may be the valve covers, not the gaskets. My 85 318 never sealed on one side until I rebuilt and when I rebuilt it, I took each valve cover, a hammer and a anvil ( or a short, flat piece of wood) and gently pounded the sealing edges of the valve covers down a little. They sealed like a charm for the next 2 years, when I sold it. I've also had a pair rust thru.
