Subject: Wanted: Intake Manifold IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys,
I have a 99 5.2 non egr, and I'm looking for a stock intake manifold...anyone want to make an offer?
I did my belly pan gasket this weekend, and everything went great, except for breaking off a thermostat housing bolt in the intake...it won't come out. I tried an easy-out, and it broke off!!! (you CANT drill through carbide steel...I tried for about 3 hours and 9 drill bits.)
I eventually just drilled really close to the original bolt hole and mounted a stud, but I don't like the fix, and I would like to replace it with a used manifold (preferably without broken bolts inside)
Sorry for the long post! Slightly modified manifolds are good too...either way.

Message: 2002 did not have egr, egr i believe was dc'd after 1995 on dakotas. The 318 and 360 share manifold. You might find a performance gain in this one because the earlier manifolds recieved longer plenum dividers and cut down on top end power. If interested, please post your email address

Message: Something you may want to try with the broken bolt. If you have air tools, put the broken off piece back in, push down on it with the air tools and back it out. I know this sounds absolutely impossible and I didn't believe it would work either until I tried it myself. Give it a go.

Message: Some machine shops have a machine specifically made for removing broken taps, E-Z outs, etc. They use a carbon electrode to burn through the center. I've used one of these machines; they work very well.

Message: Wow!
I really appreciate the response I've received in regards to my problem...the only thing was, it was a saturday repair, and it was already bolted to the engine, and I wouldn't be able to obtain a new set of gaskets, let alone finding a shop that was open. I live in Fargo ND...not desolate, but not a thriving metropolis either. ;)
Thanks for all the help though! Any more stockers out there for sale?
