Subject: Which Dakota to get? IP: Logged
Message: I posted recently polling for opinions on Dakota safety. Thanks for the replies. :)
Now it's just a matter of which Dakota to get.
I need something that can run to work in the snow, that can do some offroad work (assuming I put on the right tires), and with the right modifications run respectable quarter mile times (for a daily driver truck, that is).
Gas mileage isn't a big concern, or else I'd just buy a Civic. ;)
I am willing to buy used, so input on any year of Dakota is fine.
Thanks again guys!

Message: I got a 2000 sport 4x4/4.7/auto/ Ext.cab/ Goodyear at/s 31x10.5-15. Does all that the jeep guys do, has more power, and gets better fuel mileage. I LOVE IT. 4.7's kick ass.

Message: think reg cab, 4.7 5-speed 4x4 with 31-33's. and swap the gearing to 4.56 or so. You will have a light and fast truck that is very off road capable.
I have a '03 cc 4.7 5-speed 4x4 and I love it...

Message: Hmmm... which truck should you get?Well I guess it's really going to come down to what do you want?In the right hand we have 4x4 so we can go four wheel'n and have some fun out where cops cant get ahold of you.Or in the left hand we have speed, now I notice that you currently own a mustang GT(P.O.S from what it sounds),now even with the 4wd I dont think you'd have a problem having more speed than the mustang especially will 4.56's as long as you have at least the 4.7L engine(very nice motor)but we also have available 4wd with the 5.9L which personally i would of loved to have but didnt get it.So anyway if your staying on the asphalt and that all you plan to do that if I were you I would be all over the R/T sweet truck even stock.keep us posted on what you decide.
P.S. Do yourself a favor, stay away from ford there not to healthy nowadays.
2000 Dakota Quad Cab 4X4 (4.7L V8), 6.5in Chassis Tech Suspension Lift, 35x12.5x15 BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain Tires, 15x10 Eagle 589's, Rancho RS9000 Shocks, Aluminum Grill Inserts
