Subject: Lift for 92? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 92 Extended cab LE, 5.2 4x4. I am looking into some kind of lift for it. Maybe just 2" would be fine. I've been told there is really no lifts available for this truck. Does anyone know a relatively cheep lift for this truck?

Message: Use 2" lift blocks for the rear springs. $30.00 for the kit. The kit comes with round U-bolts and Dodge uses square U-Bolts. You have to buy a seperate Square U-bolt kit to accomadate the blocks. Around $30.00 for 4 U-bolts and nuts etc. Crank the front torsion bars for an extra 1.5"-2" lift in the front. This is how mine is raised and it was rather cheap and worked well. Pay someone to have it put on, you'll save yourself a headache.

Message: You have a couple of options.
First is a body lift, the only problem is they don’t list them for a V8 4x4 Dakota. They only list for V6 4x4 model. What they don’t tell you is that the reason many of the body lift manufactures don’t list a body kit for a V8 is because when you lift the body, the is a clearance problem between the cooling fan and the lower radiator hose. The solution is remove the stock fan and install an electric unit in its place. I have seen this done many times.
You’re other option is a suspension lift. This is expensive and will that several days to install. The only manufacturer who markets a suspension lift for a 92 Dakota is trailmaster.
