 Subject: Gas guage calibration?

My gas guage on my 95 Dakota V6 hadn't worked for a long time so when my fuel pump died I thought I would finally have a woking fuel guage. Well it only registers from full to 3/4 of a tank. Is there a calibration proceedure? I don't want to take the tank off again to check if it is stuck on something.
