Subject: Pulling power V6 IP: Logged
Message: I was on my way back home when I see this guy on the side of the road waving me down looked desprate. I pull over to see whats up and He tells me he is stuck in the stable area and could use some help. I pull in and find a F-350 quad cab dually 2wd pulling a cattle trailer full of Bulls (8 to be exact). He has a tractor hooked to it (farm type) and he asks me to drive his truck, now it has been raining here pretty good and the ground is sloppy muddy. OK we pull and try to get this thing out but he is not getting anywhere. Yep, this is where it is going, he asked me how much weight my winch could handle, 9500 lbs, What do you think, What the hell I'll just see what we can do and try. Hookup and start to pull winch only and he is pulling me in so I put it in reverse and give it some gas and keep on the winch , Tug Tug Tug, we start to move so I let off the winch and just try to keep the cable tight as we have about a hundred yards to pull to safety. We unhook and as he offers me money, which I declined, I asked how much weight he had going, He thinks and comes up with about 16,000Lbs. WOW that is 3 times my trucks weight and almost 2 times the winch power. I think he underestimated but I was not gonna argue it. He was a 2 wheel drive and had no traction as I could see his tires spinning from time to time as I pulled him.
I know my truck still sucks but He was as impressed as I was and I never told him I had a V-6.
Here's the video from the off road trip later that day.
