Subject: The dak took a hit today

Message:
well on my way home from school today a dude in a tahoe smashed a mustang from behind who in turn hit me. The good news is nobody was hurt and my dak is in pretty good shape. The bumper is gonna have to go. The left bottom corner is a little messed up. The right exhaust tip got smashed in so that the tube got bent at like a 90 degree angle. So needless to say i need to get some new things. I have some options and I want yalls opinions.

Should I:
A.)Get everything repaired back to stock condition, and get exhaust redone to way it was
B.)Get custom rear bumper from aedofab, and just cut exhaustafter muffler
C.)Just get exhaust redone and keep the rest of money for tires

If it helps i have a 97 4x4 CC 5.2l 3.55 LSD, my exhaust was a vortex muffler with dual outlets(i want something a little louder)

Thanks for your help and sorry for the long post in site history

Check the back of the cab for damage, first. It's common for a pickup's bed to rock forward and ding the cab, when hit from behind. Doesn't take much of an impact, either.

My truck looked the same at first, i was rear ended in jan, pretty hard though.. the bumper on mine was pushed into the tailgate and right rear, plus the bed hit the cab and dented it... look it over real good before you make any determination... My accident cost the insurance company almost $4000 to fix and it looked not too bad...

My dakota was rearended last december, and it took a good hit. Exhaust was all wrinkled up under the truck, bent the frame, dented the cab, and tore up the right rear fender. Not to mention the bumper was destoyed. Insurance got it fixed for about $4000. I drove the crap outta the rental car too, haha. I think it got a little wet when I went to the beach cause the horn never worked properly after that, oops. Hope your dak get fixed ok.
