Subject: 4.7 comparable to what?
IP: Logged

Message:
I would like to know what an auto 4.7 club cab is comparable to? I know I could take my wifes 02 sebring. Lets say that all is stock and auto. What can the 4.7 take? Could it beat out an intrepid? Accord? Tacoma? s-10? I am just a little curious as to where its limits are?

Thanks, this is a question that I have been thinking of for awhile.

Thanks again for any info!

Matt

I know that as for street racing I could take my buds 95 mustang 5.0/auto off the line and he would pass me at about 60 MPH at which point I could almost hang with him... that is with both of us having exhaust and K&N's... My truck was a 2000 with a 5-speed and 3.92's.

Well,
I know he prob. would've beat me, but I tried to race a newer Mustang GT Convertible on the interstate and he wouldn't do it....
Hmm, I'm sure with limited slip I could beat him up to 60 and maybe in the quarter, but definitely not on the interstate! The ol' Dak just doesn't run like my BMW on the interstate. She'll do 160!!
There aren't many Mustangs that'll keep up with that straight six.
By the way, my truck is a 2001 4.7 CC 5 spd Sport. It' fast when it's cool outside :)

I have a truck that thinks it's a BMW.
The only thing I can compare it to is Some Chubies, and Furds, and I quit comparing them when I couldn't see them in the Mirror any more.

Hey buddy , my bimmer's got posi-traction too, he he, just kiddin, I know, but it does have posi though. I don't know man, but I sure do love that car, that sucker'll haul a_ss like crazy once you're above 70 mph. It's freakin unreal. Just ask yates in DE bout' them 540's and 535's. Above 70 they're mad crazy quick!

I dont think it will take an intrepid es, mine is a 2001 with the 3.2 and autostick, it would be a good race, but at about 60, the aerodynamics would start to take over, wind flows around those intrepids very well

What wouldn't take your Intrepid?
Man, after owning that 535i, I'm sorry to say it but when I test drove a 300M with autostick, I was just very disappointed with it for the price, it was $35,000, and mine was faster, nicer on the inside and out, handled better, they just aren't that great, they need a LOT more somethin to get my $35,000!!
I ain't knocking Dodge at all though, when I think Dodge, I just think truck not car.
