Subject: F/I O-Rings Question IP: Logged
Message: I am repairing my plenum-gasket (99, 5.2, 58,000 miles) in the next week or so, and I have all the parts I need execpt new fuel injector o-rings. I cannot find them locally anywhere.
(dealership fed me a line of bull that they can't sell them separately, have to buy new injectors. I told them to shove it.)
Anyway, I have a two part question. a) can the o-rings be reused? and b) if it's not recommended to reuse them, where can I find them?
Thanks for the help!

Message: Since our injectors can be upgraded with mustang injectors, I would try the parts department at your local Ford dealer, or check for o-rings at a parts store for a mustang. The o-rings shouold be the same. Do a search to see what year mustang injectors fit, that might be the easiest thing.
The last time I changed injectors on anything, I tried to re-use the o-rings, and one injector leaked. So I had to pull it all apart again and replace o-rings. So you might get away with it if you are lucky, but based on past experience, I wouldn't try it again.

Message: I can help you here. NAPA part number GS33276. Four to a pack, so get two packs. I happen to have some sitting here waiting to get used. Should cost you about $3.00 a pack. You can get them from the dealer, I know a guy who paid $7.00 EACH!!! I like the NAPA price myself.

Message: what exactly are the benefits of upgrading to mustang injectors? can anyone tell me how exactly to do this with a 2000 3.9 sport? i'd be grateful...but i'd never admit doing the upgrade to my mustang driving friend, who will be eating my dust on his bday!
