Subject: Durango specific category would be nice IP: Logged
Message: I know that for the most part the Dakota and the Durango are pretty much the same except for the rearend of the chassis. I still think a Durango specific category would be nice.
Wife came into some money and is looking to buy one outright and new. She doesn't want all the extras but is interested in the extra AC vents and controls behind the front seats and even the 3rd seat. We have been looking and looking and only last night did we find out that you have to get into the SLT version in order to get those options. SLT means more money than she wants to spend though and the 3rd seat is not supposed to be something that I can pull from a junkyard Durango and retrofit into one that has never had it, same with the secondary AC vents and controls behind the front seat.
I am sure there are a number of Durango owners out there who would post specifically to the Durango category about Durango specific problems and mods along with still posting in the Dakota categories.
How about it?

There are a lot of Dakota forums and a lot of Durango owners on the Dakota forums because they are very much the same. Also many of the Dakota forums have more performance topics.
99 Durango 5.9, KN Gen II, M1, MOPAR PCM, Fastman TB, 1.7 RR, JBA headers, Borla, Hotchkis swaybars, Blistein shocks, chrome RT wheels, lowered 1"

Message: Oh, there is one already, I went to www.DodgeDurango.com like this forum is spelled (no hyphen) and it led me back to here.
Thanks for the other links. Wife picked up a Graphite 03 4.7l Durando for $22239 after T+T+T. It has the fog lights, fender flares and running boards. My local dealership said they couldn't go below $23134 before T+T+T with those options.
Dealer admits after all the rebates and discounts, he claims he only made $111 off the truck. He also said he hates internet buyers that really do their research.

Message: / Well, I can understand your rtfstrauion with The Answer East. I can relate a story as well, that involved them installing my parts for me, not fixing the problem, then not tightening hoses when they installed a second set of my parts to fix the issue they were supposed to fix the first time. But the reason I'm writing is because The Answer East is a totally different garage from The Answer Man on Claremont. Since discovering The Answer Man, I won't take my vehicles anywhere else. They treat me right, price things fairly, and have bent over backwards to help my sister-in-law out of a jam by fixing her broken car on their day off. They're the best. Ask for Darren and tell him Tim with the Alfa sent you.
