Subject: Fog Lights IP: Logged
Message: I was just wondering how you would go about removing the fog light covers on a '99 Dakota w/o factory lights? I was considering buying lights from www.vehiclelighting.com, the round ones. I think they should fit nicely. Has anyone used them to buy lights? I was wondering on how good the lights were and if the company is reputable. I heard about it from a post awhile back. Thanks

Message: I want to order the sames one you probably do. I like them cause they are an H3 bulb and you can get those in superwhite. Haven't ordered them though! I talked to a Rep. there and he says there have been a number of orders for those lights going on Dakotas! If you should happen to order them soon post a message on how you like them. I'll do the same if i should get them.

Message: You can use a 4" hole saw or like me get a utility
razor knife. Take your time and it'll look good. I
tried an adjustable hole cutter but the problem
was that getting the pilot hole dead center of the
blank was pretty tough. I got my lights from
wrenchead.com, made by APC for ~$35 incl shipping.

Message: I got the foglights in the superwhite from vehiclelighting.com and I am very pleased. They fit nice and are pretty simple to install. I used a 4 inch hole saw and cut out the openings then ran the wires up the driver side part of the front fender. After that I found a rubber plug going into behind the dash. I mounted the switch where the 4 wheel drive switch goes, but my is only two wheel drive so it fit perfectly in the hole. It took two nights working on it about two hours each night because I wanted it to be perfect and look professional.

Message:
Which lights did you get from Vehiclelighting.com ?
Did they come with mounting brackets that fit the Dakota or did those have to be ordered separately ?
Were there any problems/issues with the mouting brackets or the wiring ?
Also, did you use the existing fuse block in the
truck wiring harness ? (See Post FUSE-BLOCK)
I'm tired of waiting for Dodge to come out with
a fog-light kit, and these aftermarket lights
look better !
