I keep reading conflicting stories about whether the redesign is going to be 04 or 05. I read something while ago that said the redesign is schelduled for 04 and the dak is going to be smaller and more rounded unlike the new durango and ram. This is news to me because I saw the 05 concept dak r/t and looks just like the new durango so I don't know what to believe, does anybody know anything for sure?

Yes and no! Yes they are making the same Dakota for 2004! The Durango will change in 2004. You can see it on the Dodge web site. As for the smaller truck is now called the M-80. From the Chiciago Auto show it is funky looking! I think Dodge has a winner with the Dakota size truck, which there is no real competation. This is my second Dakota, and I am very pleased with the quality and performance. I have a 02 Quad cab 4x4 4.7 Sport auto. I like to better V8 sound over the 99 Club Cab 4x4 318 I had. The five speed auto is quick and gets very good mpg 18.5 on the open road and 15.5 in 4x4 in the dirt rosds where I live. I got the Info on the new models by calling the factory. I felt that was a good sourse as they are making the 2004 Dakota now, to be out in mid July.
