Well, since I drove a 4-cyl Ranger for 7 years, it gets my vote for being the slowest!
Haven't driven the other two, so I can't comment on those.

I agree with AndrewM, I drove a 1990 4cyl Ranger for 10 years before giving it to my son. BTW he is still driving it today without any major engine work being done. There slow but that little 4cyl is tough as nails.

I think my 2000 ranger 3.0 would blow my 3.9 dakota quad cab away plus i got alot better gas milege. I think it has to do with the trans ford has the better one in my opinion.Give me a dodge engine with a ford trans and rear end i think i would be set.

sorry i glanced past the part that said 4 cyl ranger in this case my 94 ranger 4 cyl was a dog top speed was about 80mph.

raced my friends with the 3.0 and i killed him later he installed 3.92 gears and i still beat him by 4 cars

i had a 92 ranger 4-banger standard cab, my friend has a standard cab s-10 4-banger and i have a 3.9 club cab and it blows the doors off of any s-10 4-banger and would beat my ranger no questions asked

i still drive a 94' ford ranger 2.3L yes, but slow, no horse, got spanked by the family wagon, and w/ windows up, A/C off, bed cover in place, w/ a nice long down hill, might hit around 90 or so...
