My 88 used to do this under load, it turned out to be the ignition wires. You didn't mention changing these so I suggest you start there. Also what year is it so we can advise you on how to pull the codes out of the computer.

My 99 5.2 dies sometimes when i get bad gas. This motor is really pickey or something. Certain gas stations I can't get 87 I have to get 89 so my truck won't stall.

i bought my 93 dak off of this guy as repairable cause it didn't run, it ended up being crankshaft position sensor($60 from dealer), it is located on pass. side inbetween valve cover and firewall on bellhousing. check that, mine had little chunk of metal blocking magnet, or you could check the asd relay,(auto shut down). a haynes manual can show you where some of this is, and how to test them!
