I have a 91 R/C Dakota with the A500 tranny. My problem is it shifts into 3rd to soon when accelerating at a smooth pace. Also it doesnt downshift after going around a corner unles i move it from drive to 2nd but it only does this accasionally. What should i check or adjust on my tranny or TB to solve this problem.
Also if my tranny has 101000mi on it would it be worth it to get a shift kit if i want a harder shift and would it extend the life of the tranny.
Anther question i have is on the TB. I have a 54mm TB off of the 5.9L Sometimes when i go from the brake to the gas really quick it just stumbles and cant even get out of it own way. After a few seconds it takes off like a jack rabbit. Should i take and try the TP sensor trick on my truck? I have read on speedtweaks that it only works on 92 and newer but if it works on that then i would think that it would work on mine because i have a TP as well
