Message: The A/C compressor would cycle on and off, for several different reasons.
A:) Too cold for normal operation (i.e.: using the defroster)
B:} Low on Freon
C:} You have set the rotary temp knob on the dashboard to a point where it's providing air that's just slightly cooler then outside air, and have the a/c on (see A:)
Have you heard the Dell Computer joke? I was tempted to give you the same answer that the Dell Tech Support Dweeb gave to his client.

Message: Dude, you're hosed. It's your flux capacitor.
Just kidding.
Do you guys run your front defroster all the time? That
would make the compressor run all the time to
dehumidify the air. My '96 did it as well as my '02.
