Just got the R/T back from the dealer today. They replaced the "Govenor Solenoid and Transducer" (part #4617210) and the "Throttle Position Sensor" (part # 5017479AA). Still no shift from first to second at WOT! Any other bright ideas out there?

If you have moved the TV cable I would suggest moving it back forward. If you have not moved the TV cable then I would try this first. My 2001 R/T waws shifting funny and they replaced the Valve body and the gov pres sensor and solinoid and it still shifted funny. I then moved the TV cable forward and the problem was fixed. It doesn't shift as hard as I'd like it to now but at least it shifts right. You would be suprised how picky the TV cable is.

id like to know how u actually got them to replace all those things in ur tranny, i have such problems getting them to even open it up, its like they dont wanna get dirty. the TV cable should not cause your tranny to over-rev at all.

I think they decided to replace the parts because I have been complaining about this ever since I bought it. There were some other issues as well such as the engine speed increasing and decreasing by 200-300 RPMs while drving at a constant MPH. I went by with my list of problems and they actually decided to do something. Go figure.

As far as the TV cable, I can correct the shifting issue by adjusting it as well, but then the tranny shifts like my moms Intrepid...There has to be something else!

The TPS should have cured the surging, and the "not shifting" is a good chance that it's the TV cable.

Powerdyne 6#, MP Headers, Transgo shit kit, MSD/BTM ignition, MAP tweak, relocated IAT, MP PCM, "409" taylor plug wires, Keith Black Pistons, 5140 I-beam rods, polished head bowls. MONEY PIT!!

The TV cable WILL MAKE THE TRUCK NOT SHIFT!!! If the truck shifts correctly with the TV cable pushed forward then that was the problem. I pushed mine forward and drove the truck for a while then moved it back 2 teeth at a time intil teh problem was back, then I backed it off 2 teeth at a time until it shifted correcly again and left it. If you want it to shift harder you will have to get a shift kit.

Drew,
Glad that worked for you, I had mine in twice and the were ready to pull it out and tear into it when I decieded to push the cable forward and start over on the adjustment. I had the cable pretty damn tight because I liked the way it shifted under part throttle. The problem i had was if I started to let off the gas while the truck was wound up it would shift to a false neutral between gears, I had to stay in the gas until it shifted to prevent this until I reset the TV cable. Now I can run it up to 4500 rpms and back out and the truck will shift fine.

I used to have the same problem all you guys were having...yes pushing the TV cable in cures it but if you get the B&G flash, you can pull the TV cable out as far as it can go and it'll shift hard at 5400 everytime w/ no hitting the rev limiter.

I need the BG flash bad!!! I can't stand this bullsh!t weak A@@ stock shift points. And with the M1 I could be making good power all the way to 5400rpm's!!! There has been alot of talk about a new option coming soon so I guess I can wait a little longer.

OK well it did it again when i was coming home from work tonight, so tomorrow morning Im gonna slide it forward another 1/8th and see what happens! Just to make sure that I'm pushing it the right way..........when i take the white clip off I am supposed to be pushing the cable torward the front of the engine right! Was just wondering cuz when i did it this morning and it worked that little like stopper on the cable wasnt touching the bracket anymore from pushing the cable forward and I think it might have moved itself back! Does this sound possible guys! Would go out and test it now but I think I would wake up the neighborhood haulin azz around lol! Thanks

Yes you are doing it right, when you pull off the white clip you can see teeth on the inside that mate up with the teeth on the slide. You should hold the cable while removing the clip then I would push the cable in 1/16" and reinstall the clip, if the clip will no push on easily push the cable forward as you push the clip in.

The BG flash is for the 01 and up guys and you can call Dave. Do a search for BG Chrysler on yahoo and get there # off there web site. They don't have any info on the website about the flash, you have to call them.

Yes there should be a new option (flash) for the 01 and up guys soon according to GraphiteR/T. He works for a company that is getting real close. I also talked to Mike Leach and he is gearing up to do the 01 and up as well.

Alright well I adjusted it before work and just got back from testing! Well all is good for now but I did forget to try it from drive! It worked great all 7 times I hammered it lol! As long as it does it when I manual shift it I'll be happy cuz the only time I get on it from a stop is at the track! I'm gonna drive it all day tomorrow and then check again at night and see if this is the final adjustment! If so I'm gonna take it to the strip LOL! I have never raced it when it was shifting correctly! Thinking I may be able to squeeze a tenth out ! Big maybe!
