Hemi Durango concept vehicle. The article says the vehicle is 85% like the production model will be. Assuming the Dak will share the same front end like they do now...

That really makes me mad. With the redesign of the Durango with that 5.7 hemi, we can probably expect that, if production of the Dakota continues, it will be the next to get the Hemi. But we probably won't be able to get it with a manual transmission. The manufacturers are killing the stick shift! So people like me, who enjoy driving a manual transmission, usually don't have the option of the most powerful motor offered in a particular model. Sorry for the rant, but I'd reeally love that hemi with a stick.

I am sorry, but it looks like the Saturn vue with an agressive hood. I love the Hemi engine though. We need that in the Dakota R/T, but lets keep the current styling!

the problem with stick shifts is that only 6% of the cars sold have them, due to women with kids in their SUVs who couldnt shift if their lives depended on it. I wish dodge offered the R/T with a stick, and the HEMI, but i dont see it happening

Kiesler Automotive can make a 5 or 6 speed R/T. I know they've been working on one 6-speed Dak.

I just bought an 03 WRX 5 spd...one month
later the tranny broke. guess what? they dont
want to cover it under warranty. (they think its
user abuse) well, subaru of America is
getting taken to small claims court within the
next few weeks. because $3600 is a little too
much money for me to spend because of poor
manufacturing.
It seems more and more these days, car
companies are becoming less leniant and
more "judgemental" when it comes to
warranty work. Just because I'm 23 doesnt
mean I go out and beat the sh*t out of my
brand new car. Subaru has one very upset
customer on their hands. And believe me,
despite how great this car is, I wouldnt
recomend anyone buy one, due to the poor
customer service and help you get from
Subaru.
thats pretty much my thinking on why they
wont put a 5 spd mated to the Hemi or the 360
for that matter.

Sorry to hear about yur trans in the subaru, but a guy here has one of the 2.5 RS versions and his clutch is horrendous, the dealer will not take care of it, started at 14k miles... He is no longer going to buy from them either...
And I am also one of that 6% that drives a stick, and I drive it because I love it not for mileage or cost reasons.... I hate that I have to special order a truck to get any options with a 5-speed in the same vehicle.... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

they fixed the clutch problems in the 03
models, but they havent redesigned the tranny
in 12 years, and since their introduction, the
horsepower has increased significantly.
there should be a clutch shudder TSB for the
2.5 RS. just run a search for clutch shudder
and subaru and it should pop up.

well just an idea for all you people with car trouble that the dealer wont fix under warrenty, hang lemons on your car and drive up and down in front of the shop, its perfectly legal and i can tell you right now they will have you inside fixing you car faster than sh1t
