 Subject: New Alarm

I've done some searches on alarms, and most are at least a year old.
My question is this. I don't have power doors or windows. Is this a necessary for a good alarm? I don't want power door locks. I don't want auto start. I just want a good vibration/glass break alarm on my Dak.
Any suggestions?

You can't get a modern alarm without power locks, far as I know. I think your best bet is to go with just a blinking LED to simulate an alarm. Probably as good as any real alarm. Odds are you'll never have a problem.

Jued, don't listen to TrueDakBM, he has NO clue what he is talking about.
You can get just about any type of alarm installed. Including motion sensors for inside the car that will detect people sticking their arms in the windows (should you leave them rolled down). You don't need to have power locks or windows for an alarm to function normally. In fact in most cases, getting the powerlocks and windows options installed costs extra.
A simple Viper or Clifford alarm system with add on modules for motion detection will be sufficient -- should you want to go that far. Normally all you need is the basic alarm package and that will detect large bumps and slams into the frame of the vehicle.
