Message: A new event I left the first Dodge Dealership and was told to get a second opinion ( like at the doctors office) As I was driving to the other Dodge Dealer 1/2 mile away it died. They towed it in to the shop and it has been there now for 2 1/2 weeks still hasn't been fixed and Customer Care just says" keep in touch with the service tech" I'm without a vehicle and service department knows nothing. there waiting for a Dodge Tech to figure it out.

Message: Ziggy, now that is a bummer, dont know what state you are in, but if I was you, i would look up " Lemon Law" and BBB and start filing. Good luck, and BTY I would also, spend all my free time in the showroom, and TELL everyone that walks in, this. One or two that then walk out, i am SURE, you will get your Vehical back ASAP

Message: I hope Ziggy gets his truck fixed okay, but using Lemon Law for a truck with 44,000 miles on it ? I don't think so.

Message: Yeah, I noticed that too. Doesn't even give any specifics on the truck, no way of even telling which transmission he is having trouble with.
And for the hecklers on the previous page, my 4 speed automatic 45RFE has held up perfectly under heavy duty use (plowing and towing at the rated limit). Perhaps you guys would be happier on a GM board ?

Message: FYI** Just had my 2002 Dakota ( Auto - 2WD ) work truck fixed. The trans would start off in 3rd gear. The Garage Mechs ( work - not Dealer ) said it's a common problem. The Fix - Part # 5602891-AD ( Transducer ) & 4617210 ( Solenoid ). Both inside Transmission. Runs Great now.

Message: Back in the day's, Chrysler gave you the fundamental information buy just lifting up your hood (engine size, transmission type, plug gap and even axel size) now those days are gone. If you not familiar with your truck you got to either ask a dealer or just look it up on your computer.

Message: Well Thanks Folks but adding insult to injury on my way to the second opinion dealership about 1/2 mile from their driveway the Dakota quit. They have had it now for three & 1/2 weeks and cannot get the computer replaced. NO PARTS. I've written to DODGE with no satisfaction so I stopped payments and Insurance. This doesn't even start to address the Tranny problem. Talk is cheap.100,000 mile warranty is worthless don't you think.

Message: Another '02 DAK, 90K, 3.7 V8, 4x4, chiming in on the orginal issue. I also experience a periodic slow up-shift after the truck has sat for a day or two, and especially after it has rained. Has anyone gotten a real fix for this? I thought I had read about a trans low-pressure switch issue. Can anyone confirm, or know of any other fix?
