My interior lights no longer work when the doors are opened or when the remote is used to unlock the doors. They also will not work from the dimmer switch although the bed light does work. This just started yesterday evening.

The dome lights can be turned on manually by pressing the lenses to turn them on and off, so they do have power.

Are there any relays that I should check? Fuses? Any other ideas on where to start checking?

Thanks.

Went through some basic trouble shooting. All of the dash panel and under
hood fuses are ok. I can hear a relay kick in when I open the door or turn
on the interior lights with the dimmer switch. Is there a module that
controls the dome lights? Could it part of the remote keyless entry
controller? I believe that it also "clicks" off when I turn on the ignition
switch.

Thanks.

I don't know about the 2000 models but on my 01 there is a thumb wheel next to the headlight switch it controls the inside lights like you have described, there are 3 detents at the top end of the wheel each has a different effect on the cargo and inside lighting

All roads seem to end up at the "Central Timer Module". I haven't had a
chance to pull this pup out of the dash yet, but I have checked the grounds
per wiring diags and they are intact. I need to find a diag. of the CTM
pin-outs to make sure before I replace it. In as much as the "relay" in the
module seems to be acctuating as it should, the problem has to be the CTM or
the wiring going to the map/courtesy and rear dome lights.

Well, it's definately the CTM. The lights worked fine for most of the day and then stopped. Simply tapping on the area of the CTM makes them work again. Probably a bad solder joint in the unit. I'll probably open it up this weekend and do a little board level trouble shooting. Damn, I hate intermitent problems.

Can't get the lens of the interior dome light off to
replace the bulb. The other dome light works when
the lens is pushed. For a 2002 Dodge Dakota slt,
4.7L engine.
