Subject: HAVE YOU USED IT?!!! IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone ever used K&W 5 min Motor Flush in their engine? I'm using it this Saturday before I change my oil to clean out my engine. Just wanted to know if there are any good raves about it. I'll tell y'all if it helped me any between Saturday and Sunday. Any reply well be accepted.

Message: 150,000 miles
It said it cleans out carbon build up, "frees sticky lifters" and combustible junk. I thought it would be good for the high milage engine.

Message: It might clean a lot of crud out but it might also leave you with an engine tick. I've used it on some high mileage engines and it has happened more than once. The removal of the gunk must increase bearing clearances or something. Hope it works for you.

Message: I think it is almost like running degreaser through the inside of the engine. I know mine is out of top condition and I gonna try this Flush to see what it does. You put it in where you fill the oil and let it idle for 5 min. I hope it does more good than bad if anything happens when I do use it. I will let you know what it does.

Message: Yes I have. It is basicly a quart of kersone. I would not use this or any flush on an engine that has not had regular oil chages!!! I t could dislodge a large piece of sludge and that could cause oil starvation. I have also used b-12 chemtool. I think that one pint of b-12 is more efective than K&W. You can buy b-12 at Wal-Mart for about $2.37 and one pint will clean out the engine. Make sure that the engine is totaly cool when you add it and let it idle for about 15 minutes at a fast idle. A safer alternative to useing a flush would be to use 0W-30 Synthetic motor oil at your next oil change. Synthetic has about 4 times the cleaning abilty of regular oil and the 0W will allow it to easily permiate all of the nooks and crannies that sludge build up in.
