Message: That is actually pretty good gas mileage for your R/T. Mine gets between 9-11mpg. As for horsepower, you're looking at 245 box stock.

Message: My onboard computer says I get 12.4 mpg in my 2002 bone stock Dakota R/T. I knew what I was getting into, my last car was a 95 TransAm. The specs are 250 hp and 345 ftlbs of torque.

Message: I can't understand why Chrysler can not make a engine that gets good fuel milage in a truck? I herd that GM's 6.0 gets about 18. But I do hold that in question.

Message: I've liked R/T's since they were introduced. But I drive my Dak 30K+ miles a year, so I went with the RC/4.7/5speed/3.92. The worst mileage I've got, driving hard, was 16.5. Usually 18-19 with a high of 20. The 5.7 Hemi was designed to get 1 more mpg over the 5.9. 100 more HP and 1 Mpg better sounds like a good swap.

Message: I don't like the half Hemi. I test drove a 1500 REG. cab 4x4 and it just didn't have the tourqe at lower RPMs. My Dakota 318 feels stonger at 1600 Revs. And Fords 5.4 (330) even fells stonger at lower revs. And I was driving a supercrew!
Also I wonder who much tourqe could the new 5-45ref could hold up to?
