Subject: Dead Dak, won't start IP: Logged
Message: Ok so this is really weird, I started the truck pulled it into a parking spot and turned it off. I unloaded the truck went to go start it and there was nothing. No starter clicks, no gauge lights no power to the gauges, door locks still work didn't check the windows. So I pull the key out, scratch my head then try to start it again. I hear a click then no power to gauges or anything then I hear what sounds like relays clicking around 6 times under the passenger dash. Still no power and now my door locks do not work. Thinking battery (even though it had 12v) I replaced it, same thing. I pulled the power cable off and grounded to the ground to drain cap's. Tried again, nothing. I checked the fuses on the left interior panel, all are fine. Fuses under the hood including ignition link are fine. I'm at loss as to what to do. I don't want to tow to dodge to have them fix because they'll just charge tons of $$$$ I'm thinking it has something to do with the ECU since the door locks are all tied into the ECU. I don't know where the ECU is in the truck. 98 Dak SLT Club Cab V8 5.2
Help!! Damn truck lol at least it got me home from Ocotillo Wells today!

Message: The "ECU" is located on the inner fender. on the passenger side.
Try this: Disconnect the negative battery lead, turn the key to the start position and hold it there for 20 seconds, and then switch it off, reconnect the battery cable, and see if it starts.

Message: Passenger side as in interior right? What I thought was the ECU happened to be my infinity amp for the speakers. Heading out to try what you suggested.

Message: After some more trouble shooting I found that the end of the ground cable, that connects to the battery, had corrosion under the tab that comes over which you couldn't see unless you took it all apart. Truck has power and is up and running
