'98 2wd V6 CC. Changing front shocks last night and broke both lower shock bolts on the drivers side due to excessive rust. Local Dodge parts dept is not open until tomorrow morning...Where can a person find an auto-quality bolt to replace this?...

Most auto parts stores (Autozone, pep boys, checkers, etc) will carry them. I know in Auto Zone they have a large selection of nuts and bolts. I don't know if they will have exactly what your looking for but its a place to look.

Hope this helps

Just make sure it is Grade8 or better and you will be fine. Any hardware store should have it. HomeDepot and Lowes have huge selection of hardware.

I not sure what a "auto-quality" bolt is, but you can replace them with a cad plated or stainless bolt. There won't be any benifit using grade 6 or 8 bolts. Harder grade bolts will rust the same as the orginals. To prevent the threads rusting and make removal eaiser in the future, put a small amount of anti-seize lubricant on the threads.

I checked Orielys and another parts store as well as Menards and couldnt find anything. I will check Lowes and HD later today.
One more question: I broke off one of the welded nuts on the top side of the lower shock bracket(control arm). Do you think I will need to replace the control arm or no?...I know what the money hungry Dodge dealer will tell me...
Thanks for the help guys!
