Message: Is removing the storage tray in the back of a 93 dakota extended cab easy? I'm going to custom make a subwoofer box to go under the seats.

Message: It's pretty easy. There are bolts that pass through the tray and down through the floor into J-nut type of fasteners on the bottom of the floorboard. I put a pair of visegrips on the nuts on the bottom to hold them.
Beware, the floorboard is kind of strabgly shaped, so building a box will be interesting. I decided with mine to lay fiberglass on the underside of the driverside tray and made a lid for it out of hardwood. Then I layed about 1/4" of resin on the lid and mounted a pair of 8" subs motor up. By the way, the driver's side of the tray is aproximatly 1.73 cubic feet.
