Message: I call bs. If they tried to do that on a modern motor, they would have seized it faster than that. I do remember that a shade-tree trick my grandfather knew for a Chevy straight-six was to put some rice (only maybe half a cup) down the carb. I've never seen this work, and I'm assuming it was cooked rice, as the uncooked rice would cook in the cylinder and make a big mess.
