Subject: Am I in limp home mode?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have an 01 QC with the 4.7 and auto 38k ml. I was going down the road yesterday and when it shifted to 3rd gear, it went to neutral. I shifted down to 2nd and all was ok. If it is in drive it does it every time. It is throwing 2 codes for the 2/1 O2 sensor (P0051 and P0157). I have one ordered, but my question is, is this limp home mode or 2 independant troubles? I pick up the sensor tommorrow, so I guess I will see!

Thanks,

P0051 - Shorted low condition detected in the oxygen sensor 2/1 heater element control

i doubt you are in Limp-In Mode. Most of the time the trans goes into limp mode is when there is a sensor failure or a mechanical failure. Never seen a trans go to 2nd gear limp mode for an o2 sensor. may be wrong. hope it all works out.

I guess it was limp mode, I changed the out the sensor and all is ok. I have never seen an O2 sensor cause that much trouble. It was an upstream sensor, so maybe it caused more? Anyway, thanks for the help!
