Does anyone know if the Indash AM/FM 6 CD changer option is available yet?
My 2003 R/T is still on order and has not yet received a build date. When I ordered it 4 weeks ago I was told then it is still not available.
Has anyone heard anything on the availability?

Nope, but I ordered mine on the 22nd of last month and it has been in status "D1" since the 25th and the delivery date keeps getting pushed back... Right now they are saying it should ship tomorrow, we'll see tomorrow. I am jsut wondering if you are seeing the same thing...

Chris I am assuming you have placed your order which includes the 6 CD unit.
I placed my order finally without the unit because I did not want the production held up.
I had to put the Cassette/CD player in instead because I ordered the infinity sound system with it.
Just thought if the 6 CD unit was now available I would try to get my order revised as the build date is still not firm from the factory.

If you ordered your R/T 4 weeks ago, and it still doesn't have a build date, I'd be curious if they actually special ordered it or not. There are two ways to order a vehicle, one is fast (with your name on the vehicle) the other benefits the dealership more (in terms of units sold).
When you get it, your window sticker should say "this vehicle specially built for (Your Name)" in the upper right corner.
The last special order Dakota I did took 5 weeks from order placed to Dak on the ground at my dealership.

I ordered mine with the radio included in the sport plus group, the in-dash CD with cd changer controls. I did not upgrade the stereo at all. I actually wanted leather interior but found that I would have to pay $400 with this and pay another $400 for the infinity sterreo. I plan to remove the factory stereo so I could not justify $800 for leather seats.
I am jsut trying to get a feel for how long special orders have been taking. When I bought my 2000 I was driving it in just under 4 weeks.

I have actually ordered my truck through www.Cars4U.com They have placed the order through a local dealership that they deal with on Dodge vehicles.
I'm in no hurry anyways as I would prefer the truck in May when the weather is nicer.

I order mine tomm. I can't wait. CC Sport Plus, 4.7L 5spd. LSD.... Graphite Gray, and gray interior. My dealer said that the 16' 8' don't come on the sport plus. I called his bluff and said "OK" like i didn't know what i'm talkin about. Sport plus, SLT plus, and Stampied packages come with the 16' 8', and if they aren't on ther, i'm making him take rims off of another truck on the lot and putting them on there. haha

I ordered my QC on 2-7-03. I called 2 weeks later and was told a 2-24-03 ship date. When I called to see if it was in; they pushed the date back to 3-31-03. I pick it up tommorrow AM.
I'll be ripping out the infinity stuff and putting in an Alpine 6 disc MP3 changer.
