I was wondering how difficult it would be to install a Paxton Novi-2000 on my 01 R/T by myself, does it require any special tools? anybody have any input? thanks.

Dan, you might want to get in touch with Ryan Vowell. He's pretty knowledgeable about Paxton superchargers. He usually hangs out on the Delphi R/T Forum or you can email him at rcvowell@hawaii.rr.com. He can get you a pretty good price for one also.

You will need a 3/8" NPT Tap, an air chisel, and basic hand tools. You also will need the correct socket to remove your oil sending sensor...(can be picked up at any local auto store)

One other thing....A lot of PATIENCE.

It's really not that bad. Plan on having the truck down for the weekend, and keeping plenty of brews in the refrigerator.

Bob Mankin? (01graphiteRT) has a Novi-2000 on his R/T...

He has his oil return line plumbed into the plug of the oil pan, so he did not tap his pan. May want to search for him in the forums and find out what fittings he used to do it...It would definitely save some headache over tapping the pan.

I did the installation myself on my 4.7L Paxton Novi. The install wasn't that bad, but missing parts was an issue with my kit. They also had the wiring diagrams wrong for the Engine Management Unit in the 4.7L kit, so they had to fax me some hand-written instructions.
