what is the warrenty on the cat?i think someone said 80,000 miles.i bought it to the dealer so he could see my miles (79921) is there any hidden charges?if so ill just ask for the cat ill put it in myself.

My warranty info booklet says 8yrs - 80k miles for the Cat or PCM

no it is all covered untill 80,000. I had to have the cat replaced on my 96 and all the labor and parts were covered. For once you can thank Uncle Sam they really want the emission controls on the trucks so they make the dealers cover them until 80k

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am hearing a buzzing type of noise mainly between 1st and 2nd gear(automatic) around 2000 rpm. I just put flows on so i doubt its the muffler - Could it be early signs that the CAT will soon go?
I hope it is the cat that way i can get a carsound cat put on - but if its not the CAT could someone list any possibilities for me.

cal dak its most likely the cat!
today the intake manifold gaskets were changed along with the cat.
wow what a difference i forgot how peppie my truck used to be.thats the good news the bad news is my ball joints are bad along with the tie rod ends!since i just have the drive train warrenty ill be installing new joints soon on my own!
the mechanic i know at the dealer has a set of mopar joints that has been sitting around from another dakota that have been warrenteed but the guy has never came back.he said he would give me a break on them.ball joints and tie rod ends just for parts are 615.00.i'm wondering how much trw ball joints and rod ends are?and are they that much better than mopar?
