Message: I used to own a '92 5.2 RC. It still delivered 17 mpg with 210K on the odo. You didn't tell the miles on your Dak. Try basic tune-up stuff at first; nothing to lose, all to gain: platinum or copper plugs (I used Bosch for years), the K&N, new cap/rotor/plug wires, carb cleaner in the throttle body(don't over do it), new pcv valve,STP concentrated fuel injector cleaner in the tank, alternate 10 gallons regular/ 10 gallons premium (90 octane for 89 price!). Original cat. converter could be an issue if 100K, as well as oxygen sensor. Free horsepower= remove the air intake "deflector" in front of the hose entry by the headlight; instant ram-air! '92 and '93 had the largest exhaust manifolds of all 5.2's. Good luck...
